AirPennNet FAQs
Q: How can I access AirPennNet and/or AirPennNet-Guest wireless service?
A: There are two methods to access UPenn’s wireless network A/P’s. A registered PennKey Name and password are required for both methods. The first method provides a secured, encrypted connection to the UPenn wireless network, so you need software (supplicant) installed on your laptop to access standard AirPennNet.
The second method, AirPennNet-Guest, is a new wireless service designed primarily for visitors with a short-term affiliation to Penn. If visitors/consultants need wireless access over consecutive days or long term, you should request a Guest PennKey be generated; click on this web link or copy and paste it into the URL browser address: http://www.upenn.edu/computing/pennkey/guest/index.html
AirPennNet-Guest is a web-based wireless network with limited bandwidth and offers no encryption. It is set up for visitors to Penn or for those with devices not capable of supporting 802.1x. Registration lasts up to one week. Users must renew registration every Monday morning.
