Creating A CREF

In the Maintain C-Ref Values (Secured) responsibility:

  • Choose Define C-Ref - the Segment Values window will open.
  • Your School/Center CNAC for which you have secured access (i.e., 020, 060 etc.) will automatically be populated in the CNAC Value field. The screen will also list all of the current CREF's that have already been created for your School/Center.
  • Review the current CREFs and decide which number that you would like to assign to your new CREF.
  • Click in the Value field on the line below which you want to insert a new line.
  • To insert a line, click on File>New from the menu bar.
  • Type the new CREF number in the Value field and press the tab key (The translated Value box will automatically populate).
  • Tab to the Description Field and type the CREF description - Note: the To and From segments should be left blank.
  • Tab to the Qualifiers field -the Segment Qualifiers window will open.
  • Allow Budgeting: (Select Yes - this is the default).
  • Allow Posting: (Select Yes - this is the default).
  • Click [OK] to acknowledge the Segment Qualifiers.
  • To save your change: Click File>Save or Ctrl-S.
