The accounting function of the Office of the Comptroller is segregated into the below components,
- Financial Reporting and Budget Analysis
- Accounting Operations
Financial Reporting and Budget Analysis is responsible for the University's
internal and external financial reporting, as well as monitoring actual
performance versus budget. Their functions include:
- Preparation of monthly and annual financial statements for the University and its subsidiaries
- Monitoring of individual school/center actual performance versus budget
- Serving as a liaison between the University and its external auditors
- Preparing ad-hoc information requests for external agencies and analysts
- Planning and performing the monthly and annual financial accounting closing process

Accounting Operations is responsible for the following functions:
- Monthly reconciliations of the University's operating
cash account
- Reporting of unclaimed
property
- Accounting for transactions between the University and its related entity's
- Maintaining BEN Assets ( the subsidiary records of the University's fixed assets)
