The mission of the Corporate Tax Office is to provide the community of the University of
Pennsylvania with a business resource for the development of a strategic approach
toward identifying and mitigating areas of tax exposure.
The Corporate Tax Office has the primary responsibility for ensuring that the
University of Pennsylvania and its subsidiaries/affiliates comply with all federal, state and local tax
laws. This encompasses:
Preparing all tax returns for the University and it's subsidiaries/affiliates
Advising the University community on matters pertaining to unrelated business income tax,
corporate income tax, excise tax, use & occupancy tax and Pennsylvania sales and use tax
Providing copies of 990, 6166, W-9 and IRS Determination Letter
