[ Corporate Tax ]

January 31, 2006

The Payroll Office is pleased to announce that effective Tuesday 1/31/06 all active Staff, Faculty and Students have the ability to view and re-print year end W2 tax forms directly from the U@PENN portal.  As we move forward in the year end cycle, additional tax forms pertinent to each employee will also be made available (example W2c, 1042S, 1099R).

In order to view and/or print your W2 please go to the U@Penn website at http://medley.isc-seo.upenn.edu/penn_portal/u@penn.php/732.  Under the GENERAL tab, under the PAYROLL AND TAX channel you will see a link to MY TAX INFO (printed in yellow in the below screen print).

Once you have entered into MY TAX INFO you will be required to authenticate yourself with your PennKey and Password.  Once authenticated, you will be directed to a page which outlines security measures that should be taken to ensure that the confidential and sensitive data that you are about to access will be protected (security alert copied below).  After reading this page you can either “cancel” to exit out of the program or click “continue” to proceed to your W2.  By exiting, no confidential data will be stored on your hard drive.

ABOUT MY TAX INFO

My Tax Info allows University employees to view, print, and download electronic versions of their income tax statements, such as the Form W-2, on demand in Adobe PDF format.  All employees will still receive copies of their 2005 statements via U.S. Mail.

Protecting and deleting your tax statements

Tax statements contain sensitive information, including Social Security numbers and compensation figures. Avoid accessing them from public workstations or shared computers.

Take these precautions when using My Tax Info:

  • When you’re finished, log out of U@Penn and quit your web browser.

  • Promptly delete any downloaded copies of your tax statement.
Note: Your computer may retain a version of any tax statement you view, even if you do not actively download it. To ensure that all versions of your tax statement are deleted, please follow these
    file deletion instructions
    .

Exercise care when printing your tax statements:

  • If you print this information, keep your printed copy secure.

  • Shred printed copies of your tax statements prior to disposal.

Note: If you cancel now, no tax information will be accessed by or downloaded
to your computer.

(A recent version of Adobe Reader is required to view your tax statements.)
