Call Amtrak
You can contact Amtrak by calling 1.800.USA.RAIL. Press "0" to leave the automated
system if seeking agent assistance. (Note: if you use Amtrak's automated reservation system and receive a
reservation number, you can't use that reservation number in the kiosk because the reservation has no name.
If you make the reservation with the assistance of an agent, you will be fine).
Changing A Reservation
If you have purchased your ticket at the kiosk and you have your ticket, you can call 1.800.USA.RAIL,
press "0" to leave the automated system for agent assistance and change the reservation. For reserved
trains you will have to stop at the ticket counter to get the ticket reissued prior to boarding.
If you have made the reservation on the web and have a reservation number, you can call
1.800.USA.RAIL, press "0" to leave the automated system for agent assistance and change
the reservation. You can then enter the reservation number into the kiosk and the corrected
itinerary will be generated.
Canceling A Reservation
If you need to make cancel a reservation, you can call 1.800.USA.RAIL, press
"0" to leave the automated system for agent assistance and cancel the reservation.
If you don't have a ticket, you are done. If you have already purchased and received
the paper ticket you will have to return that ticket for a refund. You can:
Mail the ticket back to:
AMTRAK
Customer Refund Department
Box 70, 2nd floor, North Tower
30th Street Station
Philadelphia, PA 19104-2898
Take it to any Amtrak counter and ask them to process the refund
Holding A Reservation
If you need to hold a reservation for someone but don't want to purchase it right
away, you can call 1.800.USA.RAIL and press "0" to leave the automated system
for agent assistance. You can make the reservation and receive a reservation number
without purchasing the ticket. If the reservation is for Acela Express or Metroliner
service, Amtrak will hold that reservation until departure time. If the reservation is
on a Northeast direct train, the reservation will be held for 24 hours.
You can enter that reservation into any kiosk with any credit card and the ticket will be generated.
Tickets For Non-Employees
Please note that the kiosk in Houston Hall assumes your travel commences from
Philadelphia. If you are buying a ticket for someone else traveling here you should
book the reservation on the Amtrak web site. You can purchase the ticket and
provide the traveler with the reservation number. They can enter the reservation
number in any Amtrak kiosk along with a credit card. They can select
"Advanced Paid Tickets" and "Print Tickets". The $0.00 on the ticket indicates
that the tickets have already been paid for.
