[ Workers' Compensation ]
FAQ 01:
Where should an employee go to get medical attention for a work-related injury?
Getting proper medical attention is the first priority after a work-related injury. The injured employee should immediately go to:
Occupational Medicine
University of Pennsylvania Health System
3400 Spruce Street
1st Floor Ravdin Pavilion
Philadelphia, PA 19104
215-662-2354
For injuries occurring at off-campus locations, see the listing of Designated Healthcare Providers.
Once at Occupational Medicine, the injured party will be directed to report their injury by calling Broadspire (the University's third party administrator for Workers' Compensation claims) at:
1-877-335-5213
Important Notes:
- Any employee who suffers a work related injury must report it immediately to his/her supervisor
- No Workers' Compensation claims can be processed until the injury is formally reported to Broadspire by the injured employee
- To ensure that the injured employee's medical treatment will be paid for by the University of Pennsylvania's Workers' Compensation program, the injured party must select and visit one of the licensed physicians or practitioners of the healing arts from the listing of Designated Healthcare Providers for a 90 day period from the first visit if treatment is needed for any work-related injury.
