Office of Risk Management and Insurance

The Office of Risk Management and Insurance is responsible for coordinating the risk management activities of the University and the Health System in the areas of property insurance, general and automobile liability insurance, workers' compensation, international travel and medical, dental and veterinary professional liability. The Office identifies and evaluates areas of potential exposure to risk and implements measures to reduce the risk of loss University and Health System-wide.

Included in these activities are the purchase of property and casualty insurance coverages to protect the institution and its subsidiary or controlled entities against risk of financial loss, managing related services with insurance brokers, carriers and claims service providers, and educating operating units of the University and Health System with respect to the scope of its property/casualty insurance coverage and appropriate claims reporting guidelines.
