About
The Applications Group manages Penn’s financial applications, BEN Financials, in order to support timely and meaningful financial transaction entry and reporting. We facilitate compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and with Penn policies and procedures by enforcing adequate controls within the application systems. We work closely with business owners in the Comptroller’s Office, Purchasing Services, School and Centers, and Information Services and Computing (ISC) to ensure that Penn’s financial systems meet the University’s needs.
The Department of Financial Training provides members of the university community with programs focused on the University’s financial processes, procedures and systems. These programs cover a wide range of topics which include Penn’s Business Enterprise Network and the University payroll system. Many of the programs have pre-requisites for attendees and all are offered free of charge.
Information Technology Services (ITS)
The ITS staff provides personal computers, divisional software applications, and conference room support for all Division of Finance customers. ITS works closely with the Student Systems team and ISC to ensure our customers have reliable, secure technology solutions necessary to execute the financial services mission of the division.
Pennant is Penn’s suite of student information systems. The Pennant suite includes several components in the areas of Student Accounts, Financial Aid, and Student Records.
The Pennant Operations team is part of a 3-tier support model that manages support for Penn’s Student Records, Financial Aid and Accounts Receivable applications. We facilitate system enhancements and improvements, regulatory upgrade requirements, along with day-to-day support to the Pennant suite of applications.
We work closely with our business partners in Student Records & Financial Services (SRFS) and Information Services and Computing (ISC) to ensure that the Pennant applications best meet the University’s needs.
