Manual Journal Entry (MJE)
Who Should Register
This course is intended for administrative and support staff of the University who are responsible for the financial management of their area as well as those who need to gain an understanding of and access to the University’s manual journal entry screens.
Prerequisite
- BEN Balances – GL Inquiry and Reporting
- BEN Balances – MJE Interfund Knowledge Building
- Students must bring the following course material(s) with them to class:
- Manual Journal Entry Guide (optional)
- Manual Journal Entry QRG (Landscape) Access Form

BEN Financials User Access Request Forms
Tip: Submit the BEN Financials User Access Request Form AFTER training is completed.
Course Description
In this training session users will learn:
- Policies and procedures for the journal entry process
- How to enter a manual journal entry for the following:
- Transferring a cost
- Correcting an error
- Redistributing Purchasing Card transactions
- Clearing suspense transactions
